Registration for the 2017 Winter Blast Half Marathon, 10k and 5k is now OPEN!!!!
We are pleased to announce registration for the 2017 Winter Blast opens October 1, 2016 and we hope you will join us as we celebrate the 5th annual event!
Join us in this extraordinary community celebration of health and wellness as Kalamazoo Area Runners (KAR) and the City of Portage present the 5th Annual Event. The half marathon, 10k and 5k courses highlight the Portage Trail Way System and include a mix of mostly flat paved bike trail and roads. All courses are USAT&F certified. All running events will start and end at Portage Central High School, 8135 South Westnedge Avenue, Portage, MI 49002 on Sunday, February 26, 2017. Each event will have its own official start time, to be announced.
The half marathon will close registration once it attains its cap. Cutoff time to be included in half marathon results is 3 hours, 45 minutes. Roads will be re-opened at 12:00 noon.
Members of Kalamazoo Area Runners (KAR) receive a $10 discount off half marathon and $5 off 10k/5k pricing. Discount codes are not required to take advantage of this discount – it will be automatically applied when members register using the RunSignUp system.
Sponsor expo, packet pick-up and late registration will be held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Portage Central High School in the Commons area. Race day registration and packet pick-up will be Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Portage Central High School from 6:30 – 7:30am.
Awards to first place overall open, masters, grand masters, senior masters and five year age division awards three deep in all events. An EXCLUSIVE 5th anniversary finisher medal will be presented to all half marathoners finishing within the time limit. All proceeds will support the Portage Winter Blast Half Marathon, 10k and 5k and the Kalamazoo Area Runners.
