NEW this year, pre-registration cost is $1 and includes a t-shirt! Join us for an evening of Family Fun!!! Kalamazoo Area Runners (KAR) is a proud sponsor and member of the organizing committee of the YMCA Healthy Kids/Family Run scheduled Friday, June 2, 2017 at Portage West Middle School.
Preschool age children age 4 and under will participate in a short tot run while children and adults ages five and above participate in a one mile fun run. Parents may run with their kids.
Festivities will include an obstacle course and other family fun activities, post-run refreshments and more. Pre-registration cost (through May 29) is $1 for the One Mile Fun Run/$1 for the Tot Run. Participants can register by mail, phone (269.324.9622), online or in person at the Portage or Maple Street YMCA branch.
Late/Race day registration is $5 participant and there is no shirt guarantee.

Volunteers
Volunteers are needed from Kalamazoo Area Runners (KAR) for the 2017 YMCAHealthy Kids Day Run for the following positions and time slots below on Friday, June 2:
- Water Station Volunteers (including set up & tear down) 5:00 – 7:00pm (2 – 4 Volunteers)
- Mascot 4:00 – 7:00pm (1 Volunteers)
- KAR Table 4:00- 7:00 pm (2 Volunteers)
- Rabbits to run with and encourage the children: 5:30 –6:30 pm (3 waves) (6 Volunteers)
- 5-6 Year Olds (2 volunteers)
- 7-8-9 Year Olds (2 volunteers)
- 10-11-12 Year Olds (2 volunteers)
- Starting Line Staging (crowd control/sign bearer) 5:30 – 6:00 pm (3 Volunteers)
- Finish Line Ribbon Distribution 6:00 – 7:00 pm (3 volunteers)
- Tear down start/finish line – immediately following event until about 7:30 pm (2-4 Volunteers)
